Alishan National Scenic Area Live Webcam, Taiwan
Live webcam shows a panorama of the Alishan National Scenic Area on the island of Taiwan.
The Alishan Mountain Range (Chinese: 阿里山山脈), located in south-central Taiwan, is home to the Alishan National Scenic Area (Chinese: 阿里山國家風景區), covering 415 km². This protected area is one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist destinations, known for its breathtaking natural beauty, including mountain landscapes, waterfalls, bamboo forests, cliffs, and highland tea plantations. Numerous hiking trails and viewing platforms are scattered throughout the park.
Mount Yushan, rising to 3,952 meters (12,966 ft), is the highest peak in Taiwan and East Asia. Several of Taiwan’s largest rivers — the Zhuoshui (濁水溪), Zengwen (曾文溪), and Tamsui (淡水河) — originate in this mountain range. Mount Yushan is considered one of Taiwan’s national symbols and a must-visit attraction. It is accessible by the historic Alishan Forest Railway from Chiayi City (Chinese: 嘉義市).
The webcam offers a panoramic view of Chiayi City, and on clear days you can even see Budai (布袋) and Dongshi (東石) on Taiwan’s west coast. In the evening, the webcam captures stunning sunsets over Taiwan with the night cityscape of Chiayi illuminated below.
