Glory Park in Sukhumi is not only a green recreational area but also an important memorial complex dedicated to the memory of the victims and defenders of the Republic of Abkhazia who died during the Georgian-Abkhazian War of 1992–1993. Located in the city center between Pobedy Avenue, Konfederatov Street, Lakoba Street, and Aidgylara Street, the park is a place where residents and visitors can pay their respects and reflect on the tragic events of those years.

At the heart of the park stands a monument designed by the Abkhaz sculptor Amiran Adleiba. It features a large sword embedded in the ground, symbolizing the end of the war and the desire for peace. The monument has become not only the architectural centerpiece of the park but also a significant symbol of national memory and the unity of the Abkhaz people.

Glory Park is not only a site for commemorative events but is also actively used for cultural and public activities. Concerts, exhibitions, and ceremonial events honoring important dates in Abkhazia’s history are regularly held here. In this way, Glory Park serves as a vibrant center of the city’s cultural life, bridging the past and present while inspiring a hopeful future.
