«Oi-Qaragai» Mountain Resort, also known as “Lesnaya Skazka” (Forest Fairy Tale), is a modern, year-round resort located in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan. It is situated on the northern slopes of the Trans-Ili Alatau range at elevations ranging from 1,460 to 2,010 meters above sea level, near the village of Beskainar, approximately 50 km east of Almaty. The resort is surrounded by the coniferous forests and mountain peaks of the Ile-Alatau National Park, creating a picturesque landscape.

The ski complex at the all-season Oi-Karagai Resort offers 8 ski trails of varying difficulty levels: four “blue” trails for beginners, three “red” trails of intermediate difficulty for experienced skiers and snowboarders, and one expert “black” trail. The total length of all the resort’s trails is over 15 km. The resort is serviced by five cable cars, including chairlifts and drag (tow) lifts.

The resort’s infrastructure includes modern ski equipment rental, certified instructors, guarded parking, and a variety of accommodation options. These options include yurts, treehouses, cottages, VIP chalets, and hotel rooms. During the summer season, attractions such as the “Spirit of Tian-Shan” trolley park (one of the longest in Asia), a ropes course, a climbing wall, a horse riding center, and the Ugusha kids’ club are available.

Notable attractions at the Oi-Karagai Resort include the Giant Yurt, recognized as the world’s largest yurt in 2015, and the Umai Ethno-SPA—a wellness spa complex located in traditional yurts by the river. This unique spa complex offers guests outdoor hot tubs, steam rooms in yurts, jacuzzis, and massage treatments. The local restaurants and cafes serve European, Georgian, Italian, and Kazakh cuisine.
