Nakanoshima is a central commercial and administrative district of Osaka, located on a narrow island formed at the confluence of the Tosabori and Dōjima rivers in the heart of the city. The island stretches for about 3 kilometers and covers an area of 50 hectares. It is home to major administrative buildings, cultural institutions, and corporate headquarters, including Osaka City Hall, the Nakanoshima Library, the Osaka branch of the Bank of Japan, and the headquarters of Kansai Electric Power Company.

Among the district’s most notable attractions are the Osaka Science Museum, the National Museum of Art, the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, the Nakanoshima Rose Garden, and Nakanoshima Park — the first municipal park in Osaka, opened in 1891. Osaka is the third-largest city in Japan after Tokyo and Yokohama, with a population of over 2.6 million people. It is located along Osaka Bay in the Inland Sea of Japan, in the southern part of Honshu Island.
