Located between the South China Sea and the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China. It consists of Hong Kong Island, the Kowloon Peninsula, Lantau Island, and the New Territories, along with approximately 250 smaller islands. Today, Hong Kong is one of the leading financial centers in Asia and the world, often referred to as the “New York of Asia.” The city has its own stock exchange and hosts one of the largest and busiest seaports in the world.

Hong Kong’s climate is subtropical, with distinct dry and wet seasons. The dry season lasts from December to March, when winds from mainland China bring dry and sunny weather, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F). The wet season occurs from April to November, when winds from the Pacific Ocean bring heavy rainfall and higher temperatures, averaging around 27°C (81°F). During the wet season, Hong Kong is occasionally affected by typhoons and tropical storms.

Hong Kong is also famous for its vibrant urban skyline, bustling markets, cultural landmarks, and diverse cuisine. Popular attractions include Victoria Peak, the Star Ferry, Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island, and the bustling streets of Mong Kok.
