Live webcam showing a real-time view of Kaohsiung Harbor in Taiwan.
Kaohsiung City (Chinese: 高雄市) is one of the largest cities and a major seaport and industrial center in Taiwan. It covers an area of 2,951 square kilometers and has a population of over 2.7 million, making it the second largest city in Taiwan by area and the third most populous after New Taipei and Taichung.
The city is located on the southwest coast of Taiwan, facing the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea. The city center is situated around Kaohsiung Bay. At the bay’s entrance lies Qijin Island, which acts as a natural breakwater, separating Kaohsiung Bay from the open sea.
Kaohsiung has a hot tropical climate with relatively small variations in temperature throughout the year. The city experiences a distinct wet season from May to September and a dry season from October to April.
Major attractions include the 85-story Tuntex Sky Tower (85 Sky Tower), Lotus Lake, the Holy Rosary Cathedral (one of Taiwan’s oldest Catholic churches), the Confucius Temple, and other cultural and natural landmarks. The live webcam shows the waterfront along Kaohsiung Bay in the central part of the city.
