Live Webcam Shihmen Dam, Taoyuan

The Shihmen Dam is located on the Dahan River south of the city centre of Taoyuan in northwestern Taiwan. It provides electricity and water supply to more than 3 million people in the north of the Taiwan Island and forms the Shihmen Reservoir (石門水庫), which is the 3rd largest in Taiwan. The dam was built in 1964 to ensure Taiwan’s energy independence and is also used to prevent flooding and combat drought in the north of the country.
