Xuanwu Lake Park (Chinese: 南京玄武湖) is the largest park in Nanjing, covering over 460 hectares and encompassing Xuanwu Lake and its surrounding areas in the heart of the city. The park was established in 1911 following the principles of Taoist feng shui and includes ancient temples, gardens, recreational areas, Chinese restaurants, souvenir shops, numerous water attractions, and a zoo. There are four large islands on the lake, connected to each other and the shore by bridges. The park offers stunning views of Xuanwu Lake and downtown Nanjing with its many skyscrapers.
Today, Xuanwu Lake Park is one of the most popular attractions and a favorite spot for walking and leisure for both residents and visitors. Nanjing, the largest city and capital of Jiangsu Province, is located on the banks of the Yangtze River in eastern China, 305 kilometers west of Shanghai.
