Xuanuhu Lake Park, Chinese: 南京玄武湖, is the largest park in Nanjing with an area of over 460 hectares, occupying Xuanuhu Lake and surrounding areas in the heart of the city. It was established in 1911 according to the rules of the Taoist practice of feng shui and includes ancient temples, gardens, recreation areas, Chinese restaurants, souvenir stores, many water attractions and a zoo. There are 4 large islands on the lake, connected to each other and the shore by bridges. The park offers a beautiful view of Xuanuhu Lake and Nanjing Downtown with its many skyscrapers.
