Namche Bazaar (Nepali: नाम्चे बजार) is a small high-altitude settlement in the Khumbu region of southeastern Nepal. Perched on a scenic mountain slope at approximately 3,440 meters (11,290 feet) above sea level, it lies about 28 km southwest of Mount Everest and 137 km east of Kathmandu. To the east of the village rises the impressive peak Thamserku (6,623 m / 21,722 ft). The population of Namche Bazaar is around 1,600 residents.

The village is considered the main gateway to the Everest region and is very popular with tourists and climbers. It features electricity, internet, hotels and guesthouses, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and trekking supply stores. Despite its remote location, Namche Bazaar has well-developed infrastructure and serves as a key acclimatization point for travelers heading to Everest Base Camp or the Gokyo Lakes.

Namche Bazaar can be reached by trekking from Lukla Airport, about 13 km to the south. Nearby is Syangboche helipad, mainly used for private flights and emergency evacuations. Above the village begins Sagarmatha National Park, offering stunning views of Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Hotel Norling & Restaurant is a cozy three-star hotel in the center of Namche Bazaar, renowned for its panoramic views of the mountains. Guests can enjoy a restaurant, bar, 24-hour front desk, and a sunny terrace. Continental breakfast is served every morning, and the windows and terrace offer breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks.
