El Nido is a coastal municipality in Palawan province and a popular seaside destination, renowned for its dramatic limestone cliffs, pristine white-sand beaches, and rich marine ecosystems forming the Bacuit Archipelago. The municipality encompasses around 45 islands and islets and is located at the northern tip of Palawan, approximately 420 km (260 miles) southwest of Manila and 269 km (167 miles) northeast of Puerto Princesa, the provincial capital.

El Nido has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: a dry season from December to May and a wet season from June to November. Average temperatures range from 72°F to 91°F (22–33°C) year-round. Annual rainfall averages 1,710 mm (67.4 inches), peaking in August with up to 300 mm in a month and reaching a minimum in April–May. Sheltered from typhoons, the region enjoys more than 250 sunny days per year.

El Nido consistently ranks among the world’s top beach destinations. The 4-kilometer-long Nacpan Beach is especially popular, often cited as one of the Philippines’ finest. Key attractions include the Big and Small Lagoons, the Secret Lagoon, Seven Commandos Beach, Las Cabanas Beach, and a cliff-edge zipline with stunning sunset views. Snorkelers can explore vibrant coral reefs, sea turtles, and a variety of tropical fish. Hiking trails lead to scenic viewpoints, including the famous Taraw Cliff.
