Lobuche Live Webcam, Nepal
Live webcam streams real-time views of the stunning mountain peaks surrounding Lobuche, a small high-altitude settlement in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal.
Lobuche (also spelled Lobuje) is a tiny mountain village located at an elevation of about 4,940–5,050 meters (16,200–16,560 feet) above sea level. It serves as an important stopover point for trekkers and climbers on their way to the Everest Base Camp (EBC). The village lies at the foot of Lobuche East (6,119 m / 20,075 ft) and Lobuche West (6,145 m / 20,161 ft), with breathtaking views of Nuptse, Pumori, Lobuche East, and Ama Dablam. Lobuche is one of the last overnight stops before reaching Gorak Shep and the Everest Base Camp, making it a vital rest point along the route.
The permanent population of Lobuche is small — only a few dozen residents, mostly Sherpas who work in tourism, mountaineering, and trail services. The village operates seasonally, with the busiest periods in spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) when guides, porters, cooks, and climbers arrive to prepare for expeditions to Mount Everest and other nearby peaks. Due to the high-altitude conditions, the climate is harsh: nighttime temperatures often drop below freezing even in warmer months, and strong winds sweep down from the glaciers above.
Lobuche lies on the popular trekking route to Everest Base Camp, which passes through Lukla → Namche Bazaar → Tengboche → Dingboche → Lobuche → Gorak Shep → Everest Base Camp. Most travelers begin their journey in Lukla, accessible by flight from Kathmandu, then continue through scenic valleys, ancient monasteries, and high passes, gradually ascending for acclimatization.
The village offers several tea houses and lodges providing simple but warm rooms, communal dining areas, and hearty Nepali meals. Travelers can also access paid Wi-Fi, device charging, oxygen cylinders, and first-aid supplies. However, due to its remote location and extreme altitude, prices for food and services are noticeably higher than in the lower regions.
