Galveston is a coastal resort city and port in Texas located on the coast of Galveston Island and Pelican Island in the Gulf of Mexico in the Southeast Texas, 80 km south of Downtown Houston. It is home to many restaurants, bars, shopping centers, branded stores and hotels, including the historic Grand Galvez and The Tremont House.
Galveston well know its magnificent sandy beaches, stretches along the Gulf Coast more than 50 km long. The most popular of which are East Beach, San Luis Beach, Stewart Beach and Porretto Beach.
The climate here is humid subtropical, with hot summers and warm winters. The city is often hit by hurricanes in summer and autumn.
