Kailua-Kona is a small town on the west coast of the island of Hawaii, it is located on Kailua Bay in the Pacific Ocean. Kailua-Kona is popular with tourists thanks to the excellent sandy beaches and tropical climate with an average annual temperature of +23 °C. August is the hottest month of the year, with average day temperatures around +28°C. The most popular attractions of Kailua-Kona include: Hulihee Palace and Moku‘aikaua Church, which is the oldest Christian church in Hawaii.

The town is located on the leeward side of the Hualalai Volcano, which protects it from the wind and rain.
