Bethlehem is a city in Lehigh County in northeastern Pennsylvania, located along the scenic banks of the Lehigh River. It sits approximately 97 kilometers (60 miles) north of Philadelphia and about 130 kilometers (81 miles) west of New York City. With a population of around 75,000 residents, Bethlehem is one of the largest cities in the Lehigh Valley and an important regional hub.

The city was founded in 1741 by Moravian settlers from Central Europe. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Bethlehem became a major center of the steel industry thanks to Bethlehem Steel, which played a key role in the U.S. economy until the main plant closed in 1995. Today, the remaining steelworks, known as SteelStacks, have been transformed into a vibrant cultural and music center for the city.

Bethlehem offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The Historic District features well-preserved colonial-era architecture, while the SteelStacks complex hosts concerts, festivals, and community events. The National Museum of Industrial History showcases the cityโ€™s industrial heritage, giving insight into the regionโ€™s important role in Americaโ€™s manufacturing past.

Festivals, concerts, Christmas markets, and seasonal events take place throughout the year, making Bethlehem an appealing destination no matter the season. Whether you are exploring history, enjoying live music, or attending a local celebration, the city offers a unique combination of culture, history, and community energy.
