Yellowstone National Park spans three states — Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho—and covers approximately 8,983 km² (3,468 sq mi), making it one of the largest national parks in the United States. Established in 1872, Yellowstone is recognized as the world’s first national park and attracts around two million visitors annually. A large portion of the park lies within the Yellowstone Caldera, a massive volcanic structure measuring roughly 55 × 72 km (34 × 45 miles), also known as the Yellowstone supervolcano.

The park is renowned for its unique geothermal features, including one of the largest concentrations of geysers on Earth. Yellowstone is home to about 3,000 hydrothermal features and geysers, representing nearly two-thirds of all active geysers worldwide. Beyond its thermal areas, the park features vast lakes, scenic canyons, rivers, and diverse ecosystems rich in flora and fauna.

Old Faithful is one of Yellowstone’s most famous landmarks and among the most predictable active geysers. Its eruptions occur every 35 to 120 minutes, making it a favorite attraction for visitors. This webcam also captures the Upper Geyser Basin, the largest geyser concentration in the world, showcasing hundreds of active hydrothermal features in real time.
