abo San Lucas is a picturesque city and one of Mexico’s most popular resort destinations. It is located on the shore of the eponymous bay at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula (Baja California Sur) in western Mexico, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California). The city is renowned for its unique natural beauty, stunning beaches, and vibrant nightlife. Cabo San Lucas has a population of approximately 202,000 residents and covers an area of about 375 km² (145 sq mi).

Cabo San Lucas differs significantly from other Mexican resorts, resembling small resort towns in Florida. Key attractions include the central beach, Playa El Médano, the snorkeling hotspot Pelican Rock, the historic central square Amelia Wilkes Square, and the city’s yacht marinas.

Cabo San Lucas is a popular hub for yachting, sport fishing, and water-based activities. At the southern tip of Cabo lies the famous El Arco rock formation, one of Mexico’s most iconic natural landmarks, marking the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. It is also one of the best locations for whale watching, especially from December to April.

Day trips to the nearby town of San José del Cabo, known for its colonial architecture, are highly popular. Visible from the webcam are the OCOTE BEACH CLUB serving Mexican cuisine, the beach itself, and the entrance to the Cabo San Lucas Marina, located in the central harbor of the city.
