Superior โ Blatnik Bridge Live Webcam, Wisconsin
This live webcam shows real-time views of the Blatnik Bridge in the city of Superior, Wisconsin, USA.
The Blatnik Bridge, also known as the Interstate 535 Bridge, is a major transportation link in Superior, Wisconsin. It connects Superior with Duluth, Minnesota, crossing the St. Louis River, which forms the natural boundary between the two states. Opened in 1961, the bridge stretches approximately 2.4 kilometers (7,975 feet) in length and has a vertical clearance of about 36.5 meters (120 feet), allowing large commercial ships to safely pass beneath it on their way to and from the Port of DuluthโSuperiorโone of the most important ports on the Great Lakes.
Structurally, the bridge is a steel cantilever through-truss, engineered to support heavy traffic volumes, including interstate vehicles and commercial freight transport. As the structure has aged, transportation authorities in both Wisconsin and Minnesota have begun planning a full replacement. A new bridge is expected in the coming years, aimed at improving safety, reliability, and traffic flow throughout the Twin Ports region.
The city of Superior is a historic port city located on the southern shore of Lake Superior, in northern Wisconsin. Together with nearby Duluth, it forms the Twin Ports metropolitan area, a critical logistics and shipping hub for the region. The area features oil terminals, grain elevators, industrial processing facilities, and extensive transportation infrastructure that moves goods between the industrial Midwest and global markets via the Great Lakes waterway system.
