The Willis Tower is a 108-story skyscraper with 442.1 m height located at the corner of W Adams St. and S Wacker Dr. in Downtown Chicago. It is the tallest building in Chicago, the tallest point in Illinois and the second tallest building in the United States after One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The skyscraper was built from August 1970 to May 4, 1973.

After its construction it became the tallest building in the world and retained this status for 25 years. On the roof of the building rise the antennas of the television and radio companies. The skyscraper’s height together with the antennas is 527.3 meters above street level and 708 meters above sea level. The Willis Tower is one of the symbols and major attractions of Chicago.

The Willis Tower observation deck, called the Skydeck, is located on the 103rd floor of the skyscraper at a height of 412 meters. It was opened on June 22, 1974 and became one of most famous tourist attractions in Chicago. The glass balconies offer spectacular views of Greater Chicago, Lake Michigan and the neighboring states of Indiana and Wisconsin.
