Fairbanks is a city and the center of the borough of Fairbanks North Star in the USA state of Alaska,the United States. It located on the right bank of the Tanana River in the heart of Alaska. Fairbanks is the second largest city in the state and it is home to about 82 thousand people. The area of the city is 84.6 km2. The city was founded at the beginning of the XX century in connection with the beginning of the Gold Rush in Alaska and was named in honor of Senator and Vice President of the United States From 1905 to 1909 from Indiana Charles Warren Fairbanks.
