Downtown Seattle is the central business district of Seattle, where most of all the skyscrapers of the city are located. It is one of the most compact business districts on the Pacific coast of the United States due to the landscape features. It is bounded by Elliott Bay to the west, and the hills to the north and east.
There is a 76-storey The Columbia Center skyscraper with a height of 284 m, which is the highest skyscraper west of the Mississippi and the Smith Tower, which is the oldest skyscraper in the city.
Downtown Seattle is known for many attractions, including: the Museum of Art, The Seattle Great Wheel, The Seattle Aquarium, the Art Museum, the Seattle Central Library, the Seattle Waterfront with magnificent hotels and restaurants. Downtown Seattle provides more than half of the jobs in the city, it houses the offices of the largest US companies.
