Alonissos is a Greek island in the Northern Sporades, located in the western part of the Aegean Sea, to the east of Mainland Greece. The length of the island is 20 km (12 mi), width is up to 4.4 km (2,7 mi), and the length of the coast about 67 km (41 mi). The area of the island is 64 km2 (25 sq mi), it is home about 2,750 people. Patitiri is the capital town and main seaport of the island of Alonnisos, located on the southeast island’s coast. Fishing and tourism are the basis of the economy of Alonissos, most of the island’s inhabitants work in these industries.
