Adelaide is the largest city, administrative and commercial center of South Australia. Adelaide is the fifth largest city in the country with a population of about 1.2 million people. The town was founded in 1836 and named after the Queen of Adelaide, wife of the British monarch William IV from 1830 to 1836. The city is located on the Adelaide Plains at the foot of Mount Lofty Ridge on the shores of the Gulf of Saint Vincent of the Indian Ocean. Victoria Square is Adelaide’s main square located in the heart of the city, it is the meet for various festivities and public events. Every year a New Year tree installed on its square. Victoria Square decorate the facades of public and historic buildings, such as the Federal Court and the Adina Apartment Hotel Adelaide Treasury 4*, located in the historic building of the former treasury. It also houses St. Francis Xavier’s Catholic Cathedral, Carnegie Mellon University and a lot of shops and restaurants.
