Chobe Savanna Lodge is a remote safari lodge located in Namibia’s eastern Caprivi Strip, on the northern bank of the Chobe River, directly opposite Botswana’s Chobe National Park. The Chobe River forms the border between Namibia and Botswana. Surrounded by wildlife reserves, the lodge offers guests an immersive safari experience with opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, and other African wildlife in their natural habitat.
The lodge accommodates up to 26 guests in 10 thatched chalets and one family suite. Each chalet features a terrace with panoramic river views, air conditioning, a minibar, and a safe. Guests are provided with essentials like lanterns, insect repellent, and umbrellas. The family suite includes two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Communal areas include an open-air dining area, bar, swimming pool, fire pit, and a wooden viewing deck for wildlife observation.
Chobe Savanna Lodge specializes in river-based safaris. Guests can enjoy motorized river cruises at sunrise and sunset, fishing trips, birdwatching, and guided cultural excursions. One of the highlights is watching elephant herds crossing the Chobe River. Knowledgeable guides explain the local ecosystem on each tour. Travelers fly into Kasane International Airport, drive about 10 minutes to the river dock, and then take a one-hour motorboat transfer to the lodge. The journey includes crossing the Namibia-Botswana border with passport control.
