Pingwe Beach is a picturesque white-sand beach located on the Michamvi Peninsula, approximately 54 km from Zanzibarโs capital, Stone Town. The beach is long and wide, famous for its powdery white sand, turquoise Indian Ocean waters, and coconut palms that create a tropical paradise atmosphere. Nearby coral reefs make it an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving. Along the coastline, there are numerous cafรฉs, restaurants, and hotels, ranging from luxury resorts like Karafuu Beach Resort to budget-friendly bungalows.
A major attraction in the area is the spice farm, which exports cloves, ginger, lemongrass, and vanilla worldwide. Another iconic spot is The Rock Restaurant, perched on a rock in the ocean. Visitors can walk to it during low tide or reach it by boat at high tide. Zanzibar International Airport is located 60 km from Pingwe Beach, offering convenient access for travelers. The beach can be reached by car in approximately 1.5 hours, or via local public transportation.
