Dongwe Beach is a picturesque and expansive stretch of coastline located on the eastern shore of Zanzibar Island β the main island of the Zanzibar Archipelago in Tanzania. The beach is renowned for its powdery white sand and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, making it a popular destination for travelers seeking a tropical paradise. Dongwe lies about 55 kilometers (34 miles) southeast of Stone Town, the islandβs administrative center. The beach extends for approximately 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles), with its width changing according to the tides.
Dongwe Beach is perfect for windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving, thanks to its coral reefs, rich marine life, and the chance to spot dolphins.
