Malye Korely is a state open-air museum showcasing wooden architecture and folk art from the northern regions of Russia. The museum spans over 139.8 hectares and is divided into four main sectors: Kargopol-Onega, Mezen, Dvina, and Pinega. Its collection is continuously expanding, with two new sectors—“Pomor” and “Vaga”—scheduled to open soon.

Visitors can explore traditional Pomor peasant houses, merchant homes, windmills, wooden churches, wells, fences, and saunas. The museum also features a rich collection of boats, carts, and sleds. Among its oldest exhibits are the bell tower from the village of Kuliga Drakovanova (16th century), the St. George Church from Vershina, and the Ascension Church from Kusherka (17th century). Established on July 17, 1964, Malye Korely is listed in the State Register of Especially Valuable Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.

The museum is open daily throughout the year, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM during the summer season (June 1 – September 30) and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the winter season (October 1 – May 31). Located on the right bank of the Northern Dvina River, 25 km southeast of central Arkhangelsk, Malye Korely is a popular destination for tourists and cultural enthusiasts alike.
