Komsomolskaya Embankment Live Cam, Astrakhan
Live webcam provides a real-time view of Komsomolskaya Embankment in the city of Astrakhan.
Komsomolskaya Embankment is a charming, relatively small waterfront promenade along the right bank of the Volga River in Astrakhan’s Leninsky District. It was established on October 28, 1968, on the site of the former Volga River embankment and was named in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol youth movement.
Today, Komsomolskaya Embankment is one of the most popular spots for walking and relaxation in the Leninsky District. It offers picturesque views of the Volga River, the New Bridge, and the surrounding areas. From the embankment, visitors can see the large island on the Volga, including the City Sandy Beach, located in the middle of a forested area on the island’s eastern shore and covered with fine golden sand. During the summer, the beach attracts both locals and tourists.
Nearby are Pobedy Boulevard and the Square of the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad. The embankment hosts the annual “Vobla” Festival, held since 1997 thanks to Astrakhan journalist Igor Belyakov. There are also several monuments nearby, including the “In Memory of the Lost Ships 1942–1943” monument and a monument honoring Astrakhan residents who were Heroes of the Soviet Union. Through this online webcam, viewers can see Komsomolskaya Embankment, the Volga River, Kuibysheva Street in the foreground, and the New Bridge in the background.
