The live webcam shows Lenin Street in the city of Tulun, Irkutsk Region, Russia.
Lenin Street is the central and one of the oldest streets in Tulun, with a history closely tied to the city’s development and key stages of its growth. Originally, it was called Bolshaya Street (“Big Street”) as the first and main street of the settlement. Over time, it went through several name changes and transformations. During the Soviet period, it was renamed in honor of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. In earlier times, the historic Moscow Trakt trade route passed along this street, and the nearby Trans-Siberian Railway further emphasized its importance as a major transport artery.
Lenin Street runs through the city from north to south, starting at the traffic circle connecting with the federal highway R255 “Siberia” in the north and continuing into the road leading to the village of Kazakova. Today, Lenin Street remains Tulun’s main thoroughfare, home to key administrative buildings, cultural institutions, and commercial establishments. It plays a vital role in the city’s transportation network, linking different districts and serving as an essential part of Tulun’s infrastructure.
