The Barnaul River Port is located on the Ob River in the central part of Barnaul, near the mouth of the Barnaulka River, close to Lenin Avenue and Pushkin Street. Historically, the port handled both passenger and cargo transportation, but in recent decades its operations have shifted more toward bulk cargo services. The port includes a passenger terminal with the River Station building, cargo piers, onshore and floating cranes, warehouses, and storage facilities. Over different periods, its fleet has consisted of tugboats, passenger ships, and barges. The port also serves as a winter berth for vessels.
The river embankment near the port is a popular walking area in Barnaul. From here, sightseeing boats and excursion cruises depart along the Ob basin. Scenic views from the embankment, along with the winter mooring of ships, attract photographers and tourists. The navigation season on the Ob River usually begins in late April or early May and lasts until October or November, depending on ice conditions. During the off-season, port operations are significantly reduced, and part of the fleet moves into winter storage. With this live panoramic webcam, viewers can see the Ob River, the New Bridge across the river, and the cityscape of Barnaul.
