Slavy Square, located in Moscow’s Southeast Administrative Okrug in the Kuzminki District, lies between Zhigulevskaya and Zelenodolskaya Streets, bordered to the south by a parallel road to Volgogradsky Prospekt and to the north by the Moscow Regional House of Arts. The square and its surrounding areas serve as a vital cultural and transportation hub for Kuzminki. Major district thoroughfares converge here, and the Kuzminki metro station, part of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line, opened on December 31, 1966, named after the historic Kuzminki area.
Officially named Slavy Square on August 2, 2005, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Victory in World War II, the square features the “Music of Glory” light-and-music fountain complex, unveiled on May 7, 2005. Its key elements include the 9-meter-tall “Pyramid of Memory” and the 21-meter-tall “Fanfares of Victory,” making it a major district landmark. The square also hosts restaurants, cafes, and seasonal amusement rides in summer.
