Viktor Patsayev Museum Ship Live Webcam, Kaliningrad
Live webcam provides a real-time view of the Viktor Patsayev Museum Ship in Kaliningrad, a captivating highlight of the city’s Peter the Great Embankment.
The Viktor Patsayev Museum Ship is one of the most fascinating exhibits at the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad. Moored along the Pregolya River near the museum’s main building in the city center since 2001, this ship has become a standout attraction. In July 2016, it was designated a cultural heritage site of federal significance by Russia’s Minister of Culture.
Originally built in 1968 at Leningrad’s Zhdanov Shipyard as a timber carrier named Semyon Kosygin, the vessel was converted in 1978 into a scientific research ship and renamed in honor of Viktor Patsayev, a Kaliningrad-born cosmonaut. From 1979 to 1994, it played a critical role in receiving and transmitting telemetry signals between satellites, orbital stations, and the Mission Control Center.
The ship supported missions such as Salyut-6, Salyut-7, Soyuz T-8, Soyuz T-9, Progress-24, and Molniya-1T, among others. Even after becoming a museum exhibit, it continued to receive telemetry data from satellites and the International Space Station (ISS) as recently as 2003. Through this live webcam, you can watch the Viktor Patsayev Museum Ship and the scenic Peter the Great Embankment in real time.
