The Central Market is the largest indoor retail market in Bratsk and a unique example of late Soviet architecture from the late 20th century. It is located in the city’s Central District at 62 Komsomolskaya Street. Construction of the Central Market was completed in 1983, with the project designed by architects of the Moscow Architectural Institute as part of a program to create modern covered marketplaces for northern regions of the USSR. The grand opening took place on December 30, 1983.

The building features a dome-shaped structure with a steel frame and stained-glass windows. Its total floor area is about 10,600 m². The interior includes 122 retail stalls, a grocery store, a café, as well as basement facilities with refrigeration units and storage chambers. The dome roof was built according to an original umbrella-like design adapted to the harsh climate of Eastern Siberia. This architectural solution makes the building one of the few of its kind in Russia. Through this online webcam, viewers can see the intersection of Gagarin Street and Komsomolskaya Street, with the Central Market in the background and the Lenta hypermarket to the left.
