The avenue is 4.5 km long, with a width varying from 25 meters near the Moika River to 60 meters by Gostiny Dvor.
Nevsky Prospekt crosses the Moika River (Green Bridge), the Fontanka River (Anichkov Bridge), and the Griboedov Canal (Kazan Bridge).
