Live webcam streams real-time views of the “Eye of the Baltic” Ferris Wheel on the Baltic Sea waterfront in Zelenogradsk.
Zelenogradsk is a popular seaside and balneological resort in the Kaliningrad region, as well as the administrative center of the Zelenogradsky District. On March 29, 1999, it was designated as a resort of national importance and continues to develop actively. The city is located on the Baltic Sea coast in the western part of the Kaliningrad region, on the northern shore of the Kaliningrad Peninsula near the Curonian Spit, just 40 km north of Kaliningrad.
Once a small fishing village, and later the German resort town of Cranz until 1946, Zelenogradsk is now famous for its historic German architecture, long sandy beaches with gentle sea access, unique scenic nature, and mild maritime climate. Main landmarks include the Water Tower, Kurortny Avenue, City Park (founded in 1844 during the reign of King Frederick William IV of Prussia), the Transfiguration Cathedral, and the Zelenogradsk Seaside Promenade. A major highlight for visitors is the Curonian Spit National Park, a narrow 98 km sandy spit separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea.
The newest attraction in Zelenogradsk is the “Eye of the Baltic” Ferris Wheel, opened in the summer of 2021. Located on the Baltic waterfront near the “Rose of the Winds” square, the Ferris wheel rises 50 meters high and offers breathtaking views of the sea and the city.
