Kirov Square Live Webcam, Ust-Kut
The live webcam shows Kirov Square in the city of Ust-Kut, Russia.
Kirov Square is located on the banks of the Lena River in the central part of Ust-Kut, between the Lena railway station and the historic Osetrovo River Terminal building. It is a popular spot for walks and leisure thanks to its close proximity to the city’s main train station.
The square, situated on Kirova Street and named after it, features a large fountain at its center, which is especially popular during hot summer days. Nearby is the Motherland memorial, erected on the Lena River embankment in 1975 in honor of Ust-Kut residents who perished during World War II. The area around the square is lively and well-frequented, with many cafés and restaurants.
Ust-Kut is the eighth most populous city in the Irkutsk Region and serves as the administrative center of Ust-Kutsky District. The city lies near the confluence of the Lena and Kuta rivers, which gave Ust-Kut its name—literally “mouth of the Kuta”. Irkutsk, the regional capital, is located about 800 kilometers (500 miles) to the south.
