Kosmopark is a themed recreational park designed as a modern, well-equipped public space with a space and astronomy motif. It is aimed at children, youth, and families, and hosts cultural and educational events. The park is located in the southeastern part of Volzhsky along 40 Let Pobedy Street, between Schools No. 35 and No. 37. It is bordered by residential areas, educational institutions, and city streets, approximately 6 kilometers from the city center, and is accessible by public transport.
Construction of Kosmopark began in 2021 as part of the city’s program to develop modern urban spaces. The park features thematic elements celebrating space exploration and the Solar System. Over 379 trees and shrubs were planted, more than 1,600 square meters of lawn installed, and walking paths, lighting, and rest areas created. In 2024, additional landscaping included planting 318 trees for the city’s anniversary and arranging over 670 decorative bushes and flowers.
The park’s main theme is to promote space and astronomy. It contains nine sculptural art installations representing the planets of the Solar System, created by sculptor Alexander Seryakov, which are illuminated at night. The central feature is a metal statue of a cosmonaut holding the Moon. In 2023, an interactive Earth model with realistic topography was added, highlighting the location of Volzhsky. Today, Kosmopark is a major cultural venue in the city, regularly hosting a variety of cultural and entertainment events.
