The Chuysky Tract Museum in Biysk is a unique institution dedicated to the history of the legendary Chuysky Tract. It operates as a branch of the Biysk Regional Museum named after V.V. Bianki and is located in the mansion of merchant G.A. Varvinsky, at the intersection of Kommunarsky Avenue and Sovetskaya Street. Its address is 42 Sovetskaya Street. The mansion is a two-story brick building from the early 20th century, designed in an eclectic style with Romanesque features. The main façade faces Sovetskaya Street, and the building is recognized as a cultural heritage site of regional significance.

Founded in 1992, the museum is the only one in Russia entirely dedicated to the history of one of the world’s most scenic roads—the Chuysky Tract. The exhibition covers both the natural-geographical and historical aspects of the route. The museum’s collection is displayed across five halls: “History of the Chuysky Tract,” “Nature of Altai,” “Climate Zones and Ecology,” “Motorization of the Chuysky Tract,” and the “Vitaly Bianki Memorial Room.” The museum organizes themed tours, school programs, and collaborates with regional tourism services.

Near the museum on Sovetskaya Street stands the “Zero Kilometer of the Chuysky Tract” sculpture, marking the official start of this legendary Altai road. Through this online webcam, viewers can monitor traffic at the intersection of Kommunarsky Avenue and Sovetskaya Street in downtown Biysk, an important transport hub where the city’s main thoroughfares converge.
