Vali Maksimova Street is located in the very center of Biysk, near the city railway station, and is also known as the Station Square Park area. It is one of the city’s most popular spots for walks and leisure. A distinctive feature of the boulevard is its evening illumination: the pedestrian walkway is lit by dozens of ornate arch-shaped lights and lampposts, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere.
The boulevard is named after Valentina Stepanovna Maksimova, a Biysk native and participant in World War II, whose name is also commemorated in another city street and a school in the nearby village of Yeniseyskoye. The area was renovated as part of the “Comfortable Urban Environment” program, which significantly improved its infrastructure and overall appearance.
