Pobedy Street is one of the main thoroughfares in the Kirovsky District of Astrakhan, stretching about 1.61 km from north to south. It begins at Vokzalnaya Square, near the Astrakhan-1 railway station, and runs to the Trinity Bridge over the Varvatsiya Canal, passing through the historic districts of Bely Gorod and Seleniye in the city center. Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, the street went by various names, including Dolgaya, Bolshaya Perspektiva, Yekaterininskaya, and Moskovskaya. In the 1920s, it was renamed Pobedy (Victory) Street in honor of the Red Army’s victory in the Russian Civil War. Prior to that, it consisted of two separate streets: Lukovskaya and Poperechno-Lukovskaya. Today, Pobedy Street is considered one of the busiest roads in the city.

Kirovsky Market is one of Astrakhan’s largest and most historic marketplaces, playing a key role in the development of local entrepreneurship. It became a launchpad for many retail chains and independent businesses in the region. The market emerged in the early 1990s on vacant land along Pobedy Street, in the area of the former Kirovsky department store. According to local media, up to 90% of today’s successful Astrakhan entrepreneurs began their careers here. The webcam is installed at 54 Pobedy Street and broadcasts a 24/7 live view of the street and the Kirovsky Market.
