Petrovsky Boulevard is the central boulevard of Biysk, located in the historic part of the city between Lenin Street and Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. It is one of the main pedestrian areas and an important public space used for strolling, cultural events, and city celebrations. The boulevard took shape in the early 20th century as a tree-lined promenade. During the Soviet era, it was named after Lenin, and in the early 2000s it was given its current name in honor of Peter the Great, the founder of Biysk. A commemorative granite boulder with a plaque dedicated to the city’s founding history is installed on the boulevard.
The boulevard is lined with old linden and maple trees, landscaped flower beds, pedestrian walkways, and benches. Renovations have added a fountain, decorative lighting, children’s play areas, and small architectural features. In winter, the boulevard is decorated with holiday installations and an ice rink, while in summer it hosts concerts, fairs, and festivals. Petrovsky Boulevard is regarded as one of the most popular recreational areas in Biysk. Conveniently located in the city center, it is easily accessible by public transportation and is surrounded by major cultural landmarks.
