The San Barnaba Canal (Italian: Rio de San Barnaba) is located in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, with a length of 420 meters (1,378 feet). The canal is named after the nearby Church of San Barnaba, built in the 9th century in a Neoclassical style and dedicated to the apostle Saint Barnabas. Running east to west, the San Barnaba Canal connects the Grand Canal with the Rio de l’Avogaria Canal.
