Lech am Arlberg is one of Austria’s most prestigious and picturesque winter destinations, located in the federal state of Vorarlberg. It is part of the expansive Ski Arlberg region, which includes Lech, Zürs, St. Anton, St. Christoph, and other renowned resorts. Lech is celebrated for its top-tier service, consistent snow coverage, and cozy alpine atmosphere. The resort is especially popular among the world’s wealthiest and most famous visitors.

Lech is situated in the Arlberg region of western Austria, at an elevation ranging from 1,450 to 2,450 meters (4,757 to 8,038 feet) above sea level. It lies about 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) northwest of the St. Anton ski resort and 120 kilometers (74.6 miles) west of Innsbruck. The most convenient way to reach Lech is by train to the Langen am Arlberg railway station, followed by a bus or taxi ride to the resort.

The ski area offers a total of 305 kilometers (189.5 miles) of groomed slopes of varying difficulty, along with approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) of off-piste terrain. There are easy green runs for beginners, challenging red slopes for advanced skiers, and extreme black runs for experts and professionals. The resort also features two snow parks, including the Schlegelkopf Snowpark with 17 freestyle elements. Lech is served by around 97 ski lifts, including drag lifts, chairlifts, and gondolas.

Lech boasts a highly developed infrastructure. There are over 150 hotels in the area, including luxury five-star options such as Almhof Schneider, Hotel Arlberg, and Gasthof Post. More than 50 restaurants and 12 bars offer a wide range of cuisine and atmospheres. The resort also includes ski schools, banks, a museum, a cinema, and several nightclubs. Above the main village lies the ski area of Oberlech, accessible only by cable car and known for its family-friendly hotels and tranquil ambiance.
