Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart (IATA: SZG, ICAO: LOWS) is the second-largest international airport in Austria after Vienna International Airport. It serves the city of Salzburg and the surrounding regions. The airport is located approximately 3.1 kilometers (1.9 miles) west of downtown Salzburg and just 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Austrian-German border. It is named in honor of the world-famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was born in Salzburg.

Salzburg Airport covers an area of 175 hectares (432 acres) and features a single runway that is 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) long, allowing it to accommodate large aircraft, including the Boeing 747-400. The airport offers a wide range of amenities for travelers, including information desks, shops, restaurants, and cafés—notably a beer bar and a traditional bakery. It also provides multiple parking areas for short-term and long-term use. Salzburg Airport plays a crucial role in Austria’s economy, particularly in the tourism sector, as it offers convenient access to many of the country’s most popular ski resorts.
