Primorsko is a picturesque resort town in the Burgas Province of southeastern Bulgaria, located on a small peninsula along the Black Sea coast. Nestled at the foot of the Strandzha Mountains, the town lies approximately 50 kilometers (about 31 miles) south of Burgas and 450 kilometers (around 280 miles) from Sofia. Primorsko was established on the site of the ancient settlement of Chengher, historically known as Kyupriya—a name derived from the Turkish word köprü, meaning “bridge.” With a population of around 3,700, it remains a small and charming coastal town.

Today, Primorsko is a popular seaside resort in Bulgaria, known for its fine golden sand beaches, scenic landscapes, warm climate, and natural attractions. The town blends rich historical heritage with modern tourist amenities. It features a well-developed tourism infrastructure, including hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and the Aqua Planet water park.

Primorsko Port plays a vital role in the town’s accessibility and tourism development. It is located near the South Beach, just steps away from the historic town center. The port is designed to serve small vessels such as fishing boats, pleasure craft, and yachts. It provides convenient access to maritime routes and serves as a departure point for boat trips, sightseeing cruises, and recreational fishing tours.
