Grimbergen Airfield (ICAO: EBGB), also known as Recreatief Vliegveld Grimbergen, is a private airfield located in the municipality of Grimbergen in the Flemish Brabant province of Belgium. It lies approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) north of Brussels, making it a convenient option for pilots seeking an alternative to busier airports. The airfield features a single grass runway measuring 615 meters (2,018 feet) in length and is operated by the nonprofit organization Recreatief Vliegveld Grimbergen (RVG).
The airfield serves general aviation and requires prior permission to land (PPR). It is home to two active flying clubs: Vliegclub Grimbergen and Sabena Aeroclub. In addition, an aircraft maintenance and repair company operates on-site. One of the standout features of Grimbergen Airfield is the presence of two unique round hangars, built in 1947 by architect Alfred Hardy. These prestressed concrete structures were officially recognized as architectural monuments and designated as protected heritage sites in 2007.
